Queen Elizabeth College has four houses: Matai (Blue), Kauri (Yellow), Totara (Green) and Rimu (Red) that challenge each other to win house points.
The house competition is fierce but friendly and the whole school is involved. Inter-house events include swimming, athletics and cross country. Also there are inter-house challenges held throughout the year.
Points are not only awarded for placings but for participation, so every student can contribute to their house points total.
The students dress up in their house colours during school inter-house events. The sense of pride and spirit of all the students creates an amazing atmosphere at these events.
